Location

A Location Block allows a user to insert a Google Map with settings for map type and zoom level. Optional text fields are available above and below the map when published. A location block can be used all by itself in a SAM or used with other Blocks to create a richer SAM experience.

Enable Block: Allows the block to be removed from the SAM without the need to delete saving your work for another time when needed.

Settings: The settings view of the block allows for all parameters to be entered.

Block Preview: Block Preview displays the block as it will appear in the SAM

Code: Code displays how the JSON is written as an additional view for programmers.

(X): Deleted the Block from the SAM.

Address

Enter the exact address, city, zip code, or landmark. When entered, it will display the Latitude and Longitude of that location. Optionally, you can enter the Latitude and Longitude directly into their respective fields if known. Click Block Preview will display the map as it will look when published.

Top Text

Enter the text that will display above the map when displayed. Use the Markdown controls to adjust text; size, color, bold, italics, strikethrough, underline, lists, or tables. See the Markdown Block for additional information.

Bottom Text

Enter the text that will display below the map when displayed. Use the Markdown controls to adjust text; size, color, bold, italics, strikethrough, underline, lists, or tables. See the Markdown Block for additional information.

Map Settings

Map Type

Allows the user to select the type of map they want to be displayed when published:

Roadmap: Displays the default road map view. This is the default map type.

Satellite: Displays Google Earth satellite images.

Hybrid: Displays a mixture of normal and satellite views.

Terrain: Displays a physical map based on terrain information.Zoom Level

Zoom Level The Zoom Level slider allows the user to set the level of view that will be viewed in the SAM when published. Click Block Preview will display the map as it will look when published.

Size

Depending on the selection, the user can control the size of the image within the block, and the size of the block.

Width and Height Controls

  • px will adjust the height of the block itself scaling the image to fit within the block

  • % will adjust the size of the picture based on the percentage of its original size

  • px will adjust the height of the block itself scaling the image to fit within the block

  • Auto will adjust the block relative to other blocks in the SAM

Text

Top and Bottom Text

Optional text can be added above and below the image as part of the same block using the same functionality as available in the Rich Text Block. Disabling Rich Text uses Markdown.

Padding

Padding allows for the content to be manipulated within its block on all sides by entering a percentage or pixel value. ws for the content to be manipulated within its block on all sides by entering a percentage or pixel value.

Background Color

Allows a color to be defined behind the map and text portions of the block. This can be used in lieu of, or in addition to SAM background settings which allows color and opacity of the SAM’s background. To return to the transparent default setting, highlight and delete the value in the field.
