Markdown

The Markdown Block allows a user to insert text into a SAM using the full capabilities of Markdown. The Settings allow you to work directly in Markdown or by WYSIWYG with Markdown functionality available as a selection. More information and a tutorial on learning Markdown can be found here.

The following will describe what is possible with Markdown: https://www.markdownguide.org/getting-started/

Block Settings

Enable Block: Allows the block to be removed from the SAM without the need to delete saving your work for another time when needed.

Settings: The settings view of the block allows for all parameters to be entered.

Block Preview: Block Preview displays the block as it will appear in the SAM

Code: Code displays how the JSON is written as an additional view for programmers.

(X): Deleted the Block from the SAM.

Size

Depending on the selection, the user can control the size of the text block within the SAM.

Height

  • Auto will adjust the block relative to other blocks in the SAM
  • px will adjust the height of the block itself scaling the image to fit within the block

Text

The Text block allows for editing in Markdown mode or in WYSIWYG mode of the Markdown Block. Markdown view let you see the results in the SAM Preview pane, while the WYSIWYG view lets you see the result in the block itself as well as in the SAM Preview.

In WYSIWYG view, available controls are:

  • Text Size
  • Bold
  • Italics
  • Text color
  • Strikethrough
  • quote
  • Bulleted list
  • Numbered List
  • Hyperlink
  • Remove Hyperlink

Image, code blocks and other items, while available, do not render as nicely within the SAM and should be used with consideration.

Padding

Padding allows for the content to be manipulated within its block on all sides by entering a percentage or pixel value. Allows for the content to be manipulated within its block on all sides by entering a percentage or pixel value.
