Licensing

This document contains your rights as a user of our platform, and our rights as, you know, the platform. Although it’s light-hearted like everything else on our platform, it’s legal, so if you think it might concern you, take it for what it says, exactly.

It’s pretty much all the things you would expect, and you probably don’t need to ever concern yourself with a licensing agreement, but, you know, it’s all fun and games till someone loses an eye. (Source Digital, Inc. is not responsible if our platform causes you to lose an eye while engaging in fun and games on said platform. In case of emergency consult your doctor before attempting to remove Source Digital, Inc. from your eye).

Content license

You have full control of anything you develop in a distribution or activation. You have the right to Create, Read, Update or Delete it at any time. However, similar to Twitter, Instagram or YouTube, you must provide an unlimited license, free of charge and without limits, to Source Digital so they can render or manage your content, so that our platform can continue to function.

By using our platform, you agree that if we feel, for any reason, we need to do something with your content for our platform to function, we can. You agree to have no say or right in the matter for any reason.

Right to content

You own your content (including if you created it on our platform), it’s yours, not ours. If you decide to remove it from out platform at any time, we need to let you do that, and even help you do that, because it’s yours. Even if you have allowed us to feature your content in some way, if you revoke that agreement, we must and will respect it (although we’re human and cannot always do it instantly, we will try ).

If you want to remove content for any reason and you’re having trouble, contact our policy team ([email protected]) and we will help you as soon as possible.

Right to profit

You have a right to profit from your content. We have a monitization platform which can create revenue channels for you based on content you currently have on our platform. You have a right to an agreed upon share of the profit for the use of your content for as long as your content is available on our platform. You have control over the specifics of the monitization contract (either contact your rep to setup a deal, or check your monitization tab in your account, where you can view current metrics or setup or alter future deals).

Right to change

Often, we release new features that do new things with your content. You’ll generally have plenty of notice (most features are on our roadmap for 3-6 months before they are implemented) regarding what we’re working on. You can see updates by checking out our future page.

We don’t want to take or control your stuff though, we just want to be able to do stuff with your stuff that people generally want.

We try very hard to make sure all features we design are features people want. We even designed a feature to let you lock in most features (i.e., you can decide to keep using a previous version of the platform in most cases, and still work with other content on the platform!) Hopefully, you’ll never want to leave, but if you do, you have a right to remove your content if you want to.

Open Source

All SDK’s are Open-Source and Free. They fall under the MIT license. You are free to make profit from them, or repackage them for other products. basically, you can do whatever you want, as long as it’s legal. We don’t withhold any rights.

All of our services are private and proprietary, and are not part of the Open Source community, however, we may release certain features if there is enough community support.

Create your own license (Coming Soon!)

Our platform will soon let you set your own content policies and licensing. You will even be able to setup pay walls and gateways, and create your own content platform similar to Netflix or Disney+. This is part of our upcoming marketplace feature.
