Supported Video Sources

Kurator is not a CDN, meaning it does not host videos to be used in Productions, Distributions and SAMs.

Instead, Kurator allows for experiences to be added as an overlay to any video via an existing URL link ending in .mp4, .webm, or Vimeo/YouTube IDs. The same is true for the Video Block format support.

Some examples…

  • .mp4 link: https://res.cloudinary.com/source-digital/video/upload/v1629825131/tucker_tvblzw.mp4

  • .webm link: https://www.nicholasair.com/assets/vid/your-jet-is-ready-intro.webm

  • Vimeo ID: 591239616

    • Taken from the end of the URL: https://vimeo.com/591239616
  • YouTube ID: 8YjFbMbfXaQ

    • Taken from the end of the URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YjFbMbfXaQ
    • Make sure not to include the watch?v= that comes before the video ID.
    • Kurator does not support YouTube links with a time offset for start

Vimeo and YouTube offer different settings for sharing. You’ll need to make sure you’ve configured your videos properly for them to work with Kurator.

Vimeo

You can select either Public or Hide from Vimeo for “Who can watch?”, but you must select Anywhere for “Where can this be embedded?”.

Vimeo review links and private links will not work.

YouTube

YouTube has three visibility settings that can be used when logged into your account. These settings are supported in Kurator:

  • Video: Seen by and shared with anyone using YouTube
  • Unlisted Video: Seen and shared by anyone with the link

The following setting is NOT supported in Kurator:

  • Private Video: Seen only by you and YouTube users you select

To change a video’s visibility, navigate to the “Content” tab of YouTube Studio. Click on the icon in the visibility column for the video to be used:

Select either Public or Unlisted:
